Southlake Community Services Program COVID-19 Precautions

The Health and Safety of participants is our first priority!

Here is what we are doing to keep you and others safe:

  • We have developed and implemented increased daily sanitation protocols for common surfaces, restrooms, dining areas, recreational equipment, and camp facilities.
  • We have trained all staff and worked with instructors to ensure the health protocols adopted are being successfully implemented and followed such as, cleaning and disinfecting, hand hygiene, physical distancing, and respiratory etiquette.
  • We have made hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, soap and water, or similar disinfectant readily available throughout the programs.
  • We ask that no parents or guardians visit the programs during or between sessions, except to drop-off and pick-up participants from their vehicles.

A Healthy Program Begins at Home

You can help us keep your participant and others safe by:

  • Staying home if you or your participant is feeling sick
  • Reminding your participant to sneeze/cough in his/her sleeve.
  • Washing your hands often, especially before eating and after toileting.
  • Sharing with your participant the importance of keeping his/her hands away from their face.

For 14 days after the program, there is an enhanced risk when you or your participant is in direct contact with anyone age 65 and older. We encourage you to make the best possible decisions for yourself and your family by following expert guidance and advice.

Screening Process

Each participant, staff member, and instructor will be screened upon arrival to the program. Parents/guardians, staff, and instructors will be asked the following questions:

  1. Has your participant been in close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19?
  2. Has you participant shown signs of ANY sickness in the last 72 hours? (please see our Sick Participant Plan found under our Parent Resources section on this page)

If a participant, staff member, or instructor answers ‘yes’ to any of the above screening questions or is observed to have any signs of sickness, they will not be granted admission to the program. All participants, staff, and instructors will have their temperature taken upon arrival. If their temperature meets or exceeds 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit they will not be permitted to enter. If a participant, staff member, or instructor exhibits signs of any sickness at any point in the program, they will be sent home.

Our staff and instructors will be wearing cloth face masks at all times, cleaning regularly, implementing set times for handwashing, keeping groups separate when possible, and enforcing social distancing. When items must be shared, we will ensure all campers have cleaned their hands before and after handling the item. Once done with the item it will be fully sanitized.

If a participant tests positive for COVID-19 during or within seven days of their time at the program, all participants will be notified. If you choose to remove your participant from the program, you may do so. If you choose to let your participant remain at the program, we will continue to take the appropriate safeguards.
