Park and Recreation Month

We Are Parks and Recreation

Hooray for Parks and Recreation! July is Park and Recreation Month, and we’re ready to celebrate in style. Every year we celebrate this month with our friends at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and this year we will be highlighting our team. We want to introduce you to the people who make sure our parks and recreation programs are well-maintained, safe, inclusive, and welcome. Most importantly, this is the team that makes sure you have the best time when you visit. We have big plans for the month. Listed on this page are the events that will be hosted in the parks, but that’s not all! Be sure to follow us on our Facebook page @ExperienceSouthlake. We will have some fun games you can play at home and activities showcasing some of the hidden gems we have in our parks. Watch closely, there will be chances for prizes!

Join us for these upcoming Parks and Rec Events during the month of July:

About Parks and Recreation Month:
Since 1985, Americans have celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July to promote the importance parks and recreation has in health and well-being, conservation and social equity, and to recognize the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals — along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers — that maintain our country’s local, state and community parks.

nrpaAbout the National Recreation and Park Association
